BEACON

TECNOLOGIES
In Apple's definition, beacons are: "a new class of transmitters, low power and low cost, which can notify their presence to nearby devices".

In practice, technology consists of two parts: a presenter (the beacon device) and a receiver (an app for smartphones). The presenter signals his presence to the receiver, providing information relating to: identification, position ..., the receiver detects the signal and uses it for various purposes, for example by providing the user with information and messages.

Beacons use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), available on practically all mobile devices.

The typical use of beacons is that of proximity marketing, near a shop you can send messages relating to promotions, offers ...

Cloud & Partners has created apps for IOS and Android that exploit the characteristics of beacons in non-commercial areas, such as:

1 Cultural heritage: Museum guide app (indoor and outdoor with IP68 beacon)

2) Personal guidance systems in the absence of connection (outdoor, in environments where there is no connectivity / GPS signal)
